• Cash Payment Import

  In this payment method, before shipment of the goods or provision of the service, the importer makes prepayment to the exporter, and the exporter sends the importer the goods, the price of which has been collected by the exporter. Thus, the importer provides a credit to the exporter.

• Import Against Goods

  In this payment method, the importer pays the price of the goods being purchased by it after the goods arrive and are received at the destination set out in the sale agreement. This is a highly attractive system for the importer.

• Import Against Documents

  In goods sales made under a method of payment against documents, the importer may not get ownership of the goods before accepting or paying for the documents while the exporter sends the goods without being sure of whether the price will be paid, but knows goods documents representing the ownership of the goods will not be delivered to the importer before payment of the price.

• Import Letter of Credit

  A warranty given by a bank (the issuing bank) in writing to the seller (exporter) up to a certain amount at the request and instruction of the buyer (importer) that the bank will make the payment to the seller provided that documents conforming to the conditions prescribed in the letter of credit are presented within a certain term.

  Benefit provided by the letter of credit to the importer

  The existence of the condition that appropriate documents showing completion shipment must be presented

  • The issuing bank of the letter of credit will make the payment upon presentation documents evidencing that the exporter has made the shipment timely and in compliance with the conditions of the letter of credit.

  Banks are subject to International Chamber of Commerce’s (ICC) Publication No. 600 entitled “Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits”.

• Acceptance/Aval Credit Import

  In this method of payment to be made as a payment against letter of credit, against documents or against goods, the exporter documents its claim on a term bill of exchange and payment is made thereto at maturity
