Unit Managers within Internal Systems

ABDÜLLATİF ÖZKAYNAK

Born in Antalya in 1960. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Gazi University. Started his business career in Egebank, he held various positions at Accounting, Budgeting and Financial Control Department of the bank. He became the Financial Affairs Group Manager in Anadolu Finans Kurumu in 1998. He took active roles in the merger of Family Finans and Anadolu Finans as well as in the sale of majority shares of Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası to NCB. After working as Financial Control Manager in the Accounting and Budget Department, he has been serving as the Executive Vice President responsible for Finance since August 2011. He took over the role of Executive Vice President of Finance in August 2011 and served as the Acting CEO and Board Member in Türkiye Finans as of June 2016. As the date of 1 November 2016, he has become Senior Executive Vice President Responsible for Internal Systems.

ÖZER BARAN

Özer Baran, born in 1977 in İzmir, was graduated from Bilkent University, Engineering Faculty, Department of Industrial Engineering in 1999. He earned his master’s degree from the İzmir University of Economics Graduate School of Financial Economics and currently continues his study for PhD at Kadir Has University Department of Finance and Banking. Özer Baran started out his career as an auditor at the Directorate of Supervisory Board of Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. in 1999. He then worked as an assistant manager at the Corporate and Commercial Loans department of HSBC Bank A.Ş. between 2007 and 2009 and as a manager at the Risk Management department of Eurobank Tekfen A.Ş. between 2009 and 2010. He joined the family of Türkiye Finans in 2010 and worked as a manager at the Directorates of Risk Policies and Reporting and then Project Loans and Commercial Allocation, respectively. Özer Baran has been working as an Executive Vice President at the Risk Management department since 30 September 2016.

Areas of Responsibility at Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası as Risk Management Executive Vice President: Considering the effects of the Bank’s exposure and potential risk to the Bank, taking the necessary measures in order to identify, measure, report, monitor, control risks, and reduce their impact on the Bank through the policies determined related to the risks involved, application procedures and limits. To effectively manage the risk management activities and processes, to be fulfilled and updated in accordance with legal regulations and best practices.

EMRE ERTÜRK

Born in Samsun in 1976, Emre Ertürk graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at İstanbul Technical University. He holds an MBA from İstanbul University and a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the Boğaziçi University. He worked in Dışbank between 1999 and 2005 as an Inspector and Unit Manager of the Inspection Board. He later worked as an Assistant Head of the Inspection Board at Fortis Bank between 2005-2011 and at TEB in 2011-2012. Since 2012, Mr. Ertürk has been serving as the head of Board of Auditors at Türkiye Finans.

Areas of responsibility as the Chairman of Internal Audit: Branch, Headquarters, Information Systems Audits, Reviews and Investigations.

OGÜN ATAOĞLU

Born in Trabzon in 1974, Ogün Ataoğlu graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics in English. He embarked on his career in 1999, working for EGS Bank as Assistant Inspector at the Board of Auditors. In 2003, he started working for Family Finans Bank as Senior Controller at the Department of Internal Control. He served as Deputy Head of Internal Control Department and then as the Compliance Manager/Compliance Officer in 2009. In 2012, he was appointed as the Head of Internal Control. Since March 2016, he has been the Senior Vice President of Internal Control Department.

Areas of responsibility as the Manager of Internal Control Department: Designing the execution of internal control activities and internal control systems with senior managers and/or managers of the relevant departments, in accordance with internal regulations, relevant foreign legislation, especially “Regulation on Internal Systems and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process for Banks”, international norms and ethical rules, in line with the Bank’s strategic objectives and by taking into account the quality of the operations that are performed by the Bank.

TAHİR CEM BERİK

Born in 1966 in İstanbul, Tahir Cem Berik holds a BA degree from the Department of English Language and Literature at Hacettepe University. Having successfully completing Ziraat Bank Banking School, he also earned an MBA degree from Ahmet Yesevi University. Having a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certificate, Berik held office in Ziraat Bank between 1990-1997 as the Project Valuation Specialist and in Kazakhstan Ziraat International Bank (Almati, KZ) between 1997-2000 as the Foreign Operations Manager. He then worked at Ziraat Bank between 2000-2003 as the Manager of Financial Control Unit, at Ziraat Bank International AG between 2003-2006 as the Munich Branch Manager, and at Ziraat Bank between 2006-2012 as the Compliance Manager/Compliance Officer. Joining Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası in 2014 as the Legislation Compliance Manager, Tahir Cem Berik is currently working as the Legislation Compliance Director since 31 March 2016.

Areas of responsibility as the Legislation Compliance Manager/Compliance Officer: Fulfilment of the Bank compliance control activities within the framework of the “Regulation on Internal Systems and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process for Banks”, execution of the compliance program in accordance with the legislation on “Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime and Financing of Terrorism”, to ensure the necessary measures are taken for identification, measurement, reduction, and monitoring of risks in this context; coordinating, monitoring and reporting compliance works by following legislative changes; management of declarations from the Ethics Hotline and strengthening the Ethics Culture; compliance with FATCA, CRS/AEOI contract.
