On 28 July 2016, Fitch Ratings lowered Türkiye Finans’ long term local currency credit rating from “BBB +” to “BBB”, after it changed its rating methodology for the country. On the same date, it raised the short term foreign currency rating for Türkiye Finans from ‘F3’ to ‘F2’, citing the strong support of The National Commercial Bank, which is Türkiye Finans’ main partner.
On 26 August 2016, Fitch Ratings revised Türkiye Finans’ long term foreign currency credit rating outlook and its long term local currency credit rating to “Negative”, citing the change in Turkey’s credit rating outlook.
In addition, Fitch Ratings confirmed all existing credit rating grades for Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası A.Ş., leaving them unchanged after its annual review on 16 November 2016.
According to this review, Türkiye Finans maintained its place as one of the eight Turkish banks to receive the highest credit rating in 2016.
