The magazine Islamic Finance News announced the bests of 2009. Türkiye Finans was selected from Turkey as the best participation bank in the category “Countries” of the “Best Islamic Bank” survey conducted across leading players of the industry.
The magazine Islamic Finance News, a leading publication of the industry in the world defined in Turkey as “Participation Banking”, selected “best” banks and financial organizations of the year 2009. The “Best Islamic Bank” survey, which is accepted as one of the most prestigious awards of the industry throughout the world, selected Türkiye Finans as Turkey’s “best” participation bank in the category “Countries”.
This year 2,605 respondents participated in the survey conducted each year by the Malaysia-based magazine issued in English feeling the pulse of participation banking in the world. In the survey where banks offering services in the participation banking area in 25 countries were assessed, the banks considered as deserving the award in other countries were: BNP Paribas (France),Bank of London and the Middle East (the UK), Devon Bank (the USA), Global Banking Corporation (Bahrain); Faisal Islamic Bank (Egypt), Bank Melli (Iran), Jordan Islamıc Bank (Jordan), Kuwait Finance House (Kuwait), Arap Finance House (Lebanon), Bank Muscat ( Oman), Arap Islamic Bank (the Palestine), Qatar Islamic Bank (Qatar), Al Rajhi Bank (Suadi Arabia), Syria International Islamic Bank (Syria), Dubai Islamic Bank (BAE), Tadhamon International Islamic Bank (Yemen), Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (Brunei), Bank Muamalat Indonesia (Indonesia), CIMB Islamic Bank (Malaysia), Islamic Bank of Thailand (Thailand), Meezan Bank (Pakistan); Islami Bank Bangladesh (Bangladesh) Amana Investments (Sri Lanka), Muslim Community Co-operative Australia (Australia).
The awards of the magazine Islamic Finance News will be delivered to the winners at two ceremonies to be held in Kuala Lumpur on February 25, 2010 and in Dubai on March 8, 2010. Türkiye Finans had been selected again as the best participation bank in Turkey in 2007 by the same magazine and by the magazine Global Finance Magazine in 2008.
